Carbon Filled PTFE

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a synthetic fluoropolymer of tetrafluoroethylene that has numerous applications.

• Lower deformation under load
• Higher compressive and flex modulus and increased hardness
• Chemically inert-can be used in strong alkali and in HF, where glass reinforced compounds fail
• Good initial wear and rubbing or sliding characteristics in both dry and water applications
• Frequently used in piston rings to reduce cylinder wall wear
